Our Mission

Create educational opportunities and programs that connect people from all backgrounds around common goals of sustainable development. Teach leadership skills to international participants that foster a critical approach to community challenges, both in Africa and around the world.

Our Goals

• Integrate experiential and theoretical approaches to education that teach appropriate development theory and action research; foster critical analysis in developing sustainable development solutions.

• Involve members of local communities, international students, government officials, and professionals in relevant fields to bridge cultural assumptions and combine knowledge and practices from all participants.

• Teach Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) qualifying programs and courses by integrating the four pillars of Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) of the  Global Ecovillage Network (GEN): ecology, economy, society and worldview.

• Ensure protection, rediscovery, appropriate modernization and re-integration of Africa’s written and oral wisdom traditions, as expressed in arts, knowledge and community values inherent in village life.
