Conceptual Framework for Sustainable Local Development Education and Activities 

Teaching materials created by Gaia Education contain the best explanation of ecovillage practices in the context of industrialized lifestyles and worldviews. The founders of GEN and a group of specialists coauthored these official training documents. GENSEN is in the early stages of adapting these materials to educate African traditional villagers in ways of preserving and transforming their ancestral villages into ecovillages.

Adaptation to Senegalese Eco-Villages

We have adapted the EDE diagram to have relevancy to Senegalese eco-villagers. EREV Institute is developing and producing development communications materials, including a workshop guide, and a pictorial guide for stimulating discussion and work in the four EDE domains.  With this diagram, and other tools, we teach sustainable development principles to ecovillages throughout Senegal.

These tools are exceptionally useful in analyzing development approaches, and are integrated into all program development.
